Not too long ago I mentioned that I wasn’t posting too many individual stocks for a reason. Well, since it may impact the future direction of the site I figured I should give a little more info now. Those that know me know that I’ve been working on an automated trading system for a while now, and recently I have actually started allowing it to execute trades for me. While I still follow the markets closely, it alleviates the need to do daily screens and analysis of individual stocks. I’m not sure what that means for the “interesting stock” posts, but rest assured that the “interesting stock market news” posts will continue as long as the general market interests me.

I may post things on the automated trading system or its stock picks if there’s any interest, but that’s not a top priority right now since it has no benefit to me. Sorry, I’m being selfish. Since it involves a lot of stats, linear algebra, AI, and general programming I’m guessing it wouldn’t be of much interest to most people that read this blog anyway — all 2 of them. Plus, there’s the minor issue that I’m not qualified to write about any of the aforementioned subjects since I only know just enough about each area to get what I need done. So if you noticed a change in this blog since last year, that’s why. And if you just started reading it this year, ignore this post and continue to enjoy the daily stock market analysis posts. More to come on the topic in the future…

Sorry to bother you with this non-stock stuff, but if you find my site useful I’m adding a way for you to support it without costing you a penny. If you purchase anything from Amazon.com you can go to my sponsors page (link is also on the top menu bar) and make your product search, then click through to Amazon to make the purchase. Ok, maybe you will be spending money, but it’s on something you were already going to purchase anyway — just that instead of amazon getting 100% of your money they’ll only get 96% and I’ll get the rest. Thanks in advance to anyone that actually uses this.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted any real educational things, but if anybody cares, don’t worry, I have a long list of things to write about still. I’ve been busy with a whole lot of other stuff lately though, including actually making money with stocks rather than spending time writing about how to make money with them. Fear not though, the market sentiment and stocks to watch posts will always be cranked out, since I know of at least one very important person that benefits from them (me). I encourage everyone else to keep logs of their thoughts not just on stocks they buy, but also on stocks they don’t buy since it can really help in improving yourself through introspection. If you keep a public one, make sure you let me know where it is too.

Here’s a secret about my site that I’m guessing nobody has noticed. If you go to any of the category pages, like the bullish posts page, I added a little link at the very bottom to go to the yahoo page with all of the charts for those stocks. It was easier than clicking through all of the individual chart links to see the current charts, but I can’t say that I actually use it very much, so that’s why it’s still hidden away for now. If I can figure out a way to make it useful, maybe I’ll move it to the sidebar or something, but just letting people know in case someone else wanted to use it.
